You don’t need to be a die-hard coffee lover to enjoy this creamy vegan mocha recipe. Mocha is the perfect blend between a hot chocolate and coffee.
I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but from time to time I like to enjoy a nice cup of coffee, preferably a mocha. Plain coffee is too bitter and strong for my liking so I tend to go for the weak sweet stuff.
The real caffeine addicts will definitely come for my neck because according to them lattes, mochas and iced coffee are fakes. Some of my friends think that they should be labeled as desserts instead. I completely disagree.
Few years ago, I never imagined myself drinking coffee, the scent of coffee would turn me off. But ever since I came to university, I found myself drinking coffee on days when I have zero energy. With this new found tolerance for coffee, I started buying ground coffee at home to make my own lattes and mocha at home. I am even considering buying a fancy coffee machine, although they are a bit expensive.
Enough of me talking about my personal life, let’s get into some of the details of this recipe.
This recipe is very simple, it’s vegan and vegetarian friendly but if you prefer to use whole milk for this recipe then you can do so. I used coconut milk for this recipe because I loved the creamy texture I got from it and the nutty taste that it gave me. If you don’t like or have coconut milk you can definitely swap it for almond or cashew milk, or any other dairy-free milk.
I hope you enjoy the recipe.
Now, let’s get into it.
