Seafood is a huge part of Caribbean cuisine. Being surrounded by water means that we love to lay on the sand, swim and eat seafood. This easy Caribbean baked whole fish recipe embodies the love of seafood in the Caribbean.

Caribbean people love seafood. Not only do we love it but we love to cook it many different ways. The most common way to cook fish is to grill it but if you don’t own a grill you can bake it. In order to cater to people who don’t own a grill with thought this easy Caribbean Baked whole fish would help.

Making this recipe is pretty simple, you can use whatever whole fish you can find and just follow along. Of course if you use a different kind of fish from what we used, the taste will differ.

Easy Caribbean Baked Whole Fish

This easy Caribbean baked whole fish is an easy way to cook fish a Caribbean way. The ingredients are easy to find and the taste is amazing.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 sprigs Fresh thyme
  • 2 Whole fish scaled and gutted
  • 4 Lemon slices
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Foil paper
  • 4 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4-6 Fresh Parsley chopped
  • 2 sprigs Scallions finely diced
  • 2 Garlic cloves minced
  • 2 Pimento peppers finely diced
  • 1 Scotch bonnet pepper finely diced
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C/400°F. Line a baking tray with two pieces of foil paper and set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix the scallions, parsley, scotch bonnet, pepper, pimento pepper, lime juice, garlic and olive oil. Mix everything together.
  • Place each fish on the foil, season generously with salt and black pepper. Stuff the fish with half of the herb mix on the inside then add the rest on top. Stuff the fishes with the lemon slices and place the thyme on top.
  • Wrap and bake the fishes for 30-35 minutes and enjoy!
