So we really have an obsession for anything coconut. Whether it’s the milk or the fruit itself, coconut is just amazing. Especially when we use it to make this delicious fried coconut crusted shrimp recipe.
Shrimps are easy to cook, but it can get boring very quickly if it is done the same way every single time. Thankfully, we decided to share this recipe so that you can cook it a little different the next time.
In order for these shrimps to be crunchy and full of coconut. We used panko breadcrumbs, coconut milk and shredded coconut, and of course other delicious ingredients.

Fried Coconut Crusted Shrimps
This fried coconut crusted shrimp recipe is coated in shredded coconut, coconut milk and panko breadcrumbs for that crispy texture. It is perfect.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Shrimps deveined and cleaned
- 2-3 cups Oil for frying
For the flour mix:
- 1 cup All-purpose flour sifted
- 1 cup Shredded coconut
- 1/2 tsp Salt
For the eggs:
- 2 medium Eggs at room temperature
- 2 tbsp Coconut milk at room temperature
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Paprika
For the breadcrumbs:
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup Shredded coconut
Instructions
- In a small/medium bowl, mix the flour, salt, black pepper and shredded coconut together. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the coconut milk, paprika, salt and black pepper. Set aside.
- In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and shredded coconut together.
- Take each shrimps and dip it into the flour, shake off the excess. Then dip it into the egg mixture then shake off the excess and finally dip it into the breadcrumbs and shake off the excess.
- Place a pot with oil, enough to deep fry the shrimps, over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the shrimps and cook them until they are golden brown, which should take 3-5 minutes.
Notes
Serve with a nice shrimp cocktail sauce and enjoy!
