At the beginning of every new year, we all make the same resolutions. We all tell ourselves that we will be healthier and we will eat better. Unfortunately, we start the first week if the year off strong then we forget about those resolutions at the end of the first month. I thought this Quick Island Style Shrimp Salad recipe will help you guys to get back on track.
I am not a health guru, I also tend to fall off track when it comes to healthy eating. Every year, I tell myself that I will start to workout more and eat more healthy foods. Sadly, by February I forget all of those goals I had set.
Clearly, the main ingredient to this delicious salad recipe is shrimps. In order to add a Caribbean touch to this recipe, I started by focusing on my shrimps. I seasoned my shrimp with the famous Caribbean green seasoning so it can have some flavor.
What makes this salad a “Caribbean Salad”?
Unlike other cultures/cuisines, salads aren’t part of the Caribbean culture/cuisine. So I had to get my inspiration from other cuisines and then I added my own take on it.
As a result of using the green seasoning for the shrimps, this salad is considered to be a Caribbean salad. Since the shrimps are the obvious superstar, this salad is automatically labeled as a Caribbean one since the shrimps are Caribbean inspired.
Before you run out and buy a salad dressing, I really think the best one is this Citrus Creole Dressing. My homemade citrus creole dressing recipe was made with this recipe in mind. It will compliment this recipe perfectly.
I hope you enjoy the recipe.
Now, let’s get into it.
