Greek Steak Tacos & Tzatziki Sauce

Ingredients

Tacos

  • 2 pounds Flank steaks cleaned and patted dry
  • 2 tsp Olive oil
  • 1 medium cucumber diced
  • Corn or flour tortillas

Tzatziki sauce:

  • 1 medium Cucumber
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp Olive oil
  • 1-2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • Juice of half a lemon

Greek seasoning:

  • 2 tsp Dried basil
  • 2 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper

Pickled red onions:

  • 1 Red onion sliced
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

The sauce:

  • Grate the cucumber and drain it using sifter. Discard the juice.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the grated cucumber, yogurt, salt, black pepper, lemon juice and olive oil. Mix everything together and set aside. 

Pickled onions:

  • Mix together the slice red onions, lemon juice and salt. Mix them together and let it sit. 

The seasoning:

  • Mix together the dried bail, dried oregano, salt, black pepper and garlic powder. 

The steaks:

  • Rub the seasoning on each sides of the steaks. 
  • In a skillet, warm the olive oil then cook the steaks. I cook mines on each side for 7-8 minutes.
  • Once the steaks are done cooking, let the steak cool off before slicing them thinly. 

The assembly:

  • In a tortilla, add the steak followed by the cucumber, pickled onions and finally the tzatziki sauce. Enjoy!
