Ingredients
Tea :
1cupWater
1 Cinnamon sticks
8Allspice berries
6Cloves
3Star anise
Milk base :
115 oz canCoconut cream(preferably Coco Lopez brand)
114 oz canCoconut milk(preferably Goya brand or homemade)
114 oz canCondensed milk
112 oz canEvaporated milk
2/3cupDark or white rum(preferably Don Q)
4tspVanilla extract
2tspCinnamon
1tspNutmeg
Instructions
Making the tea :
In a pot, add water, star anise, cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice berries.
Simmer on a medium-low heat for 5 mins.
Remove from heat then cover and let it steep for 10 minutes. Let it cool.
Making the milk base :
In a blender, add coconut cream, coconut milk, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla extract.
Blend everything together.
Transfer the milk base into a mixing bowl.
Mixing everything together :
Add the rum and the tea to the milk base and whisk everything together.
Pour into bottles and chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
The longer the coquito chills the better it tastes.
