Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

Red velvet hot chocolate:

  • 4 cups Whole milk at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 8 oz White chocolate
  • 4-6 drops Red food colouring(I used Wilton gel colour)
  • Whipped cream

"Blood":

  • 3 tbsp Powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 tsp Water
  • 2-4 drops Red food colouring

Instructions

Hot chocolate:

  • In a medium size pot over medium-low heat, heat the milk then stir in the sugar. Once the sugar has dissolved add the white chocolate. Stir constantly until the chocolate has melted then add the vanilla.
  • Remove from the heat and add the food colouring, I used 4-6 drops to get that rich red colour. But the amount will depend on the type and brand of food colouring you are using. 

"Blood":

  • In a small mixing bowl, add the powdered sugar then stir in the water. The texture you should be after is a syrup like texture. Add the food colouring until you get a bright red colour.

Assembly:

  • Pour the hot chocolate into cups then top with whipped cream and finally the blood. Enjoy!
