Traditional Caribbean Cornmeal Porridge
This traditional Caribbean cornmeal porridge recipe is perfect for you to start your day off right. It is filling, delicious and tasty.

Ingredients

Yellow fine cornmeal

Evaporated milk

Brown sugar

Water

Vanilla extract

Nutmeg
1/2

Almond essence
1/4
tsp
Ground cloves
Pinch of salt

Cinnamon stick (or 1/2 tsp)
Instructions
In a bowl, mix the cornmeal and porridge together until smooth then set aside.
In a pot over medium-low heat, add the milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and ground cloves. Stir everything and let it warm for 2-3 minutes.
Stir in the cornmeal mixture along with the vanilla extract, almond essence and salt. Let it cook for 15-20 minutes, being sure to stir constantly.
Once it's done remove from the heat and stir in the brown sugar.
Serve and enjoy_
