Vegan chocolate loaf cake

I love chocolate cake and I wanted to share this vegan chocolate loaf cake recipe. This loaf cake recipe is just perfect and I love it.

Ingredients

  • 1 & 1/2 cups All-purpose flour sifted
  • 1/2 cup Oat milk or almond milk or soy milk at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Applesauce
  • 1/2 cup Semi-sweet dark chocolate chips divided
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder sifted
  • 1/4 cup Coconut oil melted
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F190°C. Line a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside. 
  • In a mixing bowl add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Mix everything together and set aside. 
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the coconut oil, applesauce, vanilla extract and granulated sugar until smooth and well combined. 
  • Once the wet mixture is well combined gradually stir in the flour into the wet ingredients substituting between the flour and the coconut milk. Finally fold in half of the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in comes out clean. 
  • When the cake is done baking, let it cool for 15-20 minutes before cutting into it.
